MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo Department of Athletics announced Friday that Lauren Korte has been named the new assistant athletic trainer. Korte spent the previous two years at Division I Presbyterian College as an intern athletic trainer.
Korte served as the athletic trainer for volleyball, women’s lacrosse and men’s and women’s tennis at Presbyterian. Prior to PC, she spent two years at Division I University of South Dakota where she served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. She worked with the football, softball, volleyball, men’s and women’s swimming and diving and the men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams at USD.
For the past five summers she has worked at the University of Tennessee with the men’s basketball, volleyball and softball summer camps.
While an undergraduate she served as a student athletic trainer at Lincoln Memorial University and work with baseball, softball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s golf and men’s and women’s tennis. She also covered local high school football.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training with a minor in kinesiology in 2008 from Lincoln Memorial University. She earned a Master of Arts degree in health, physical education and recreation with a concentration in exercise physiology and athletic administration in 2010 from the University of South Dakota.
She is a State Certified Athletic Trainer in South Carolina and is a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer as well.
