DONNIE ANDRES

1991 UM Hall of Fame Inductee, Donnie Andrews, was one of the best men's tennis players to compete for the Falcons. He competed at No. 1 singles for four season, posting a singles record or 75-3 overall, which included an undefeated season (21-0) his junior season. UM teams won the Alabama Collegiate Conference title in three of his four season and Andrews was a part of a team that won the doubles title in tow of four seasons.

After graduating from the UM in 1967, Andrews went to teach at Windsor Forest High School in Savannah, GA., where he concurrently served as tennis pro for the City of Savannah. He has also held positions as Director of Tennis for country clubs in Hilton Head Island, S.C. and Montgomery, Ala., before eventually moving back to Savannah where he serves as a freelance tennis professional.

SANDRA SIMS

1991 UM Hall of Fame Inductee, Sandra Sims, joined the Falcon program with expectations to help lead Montevallo volleyball into a new era. Sims led UM to a school record 42-wins in her first season, as Montevallo won the AIAW Division II State title. She also was the team leader in kills and hitting percentage during her freshman year.

Sims, multi-talented player, led the Lady Falcons in kills and services aces each of her last three seasons. She was an All-State tournament selection during her freshman and sophomore campaigns. In 1981, a Sims- led squad tied the school record for wins (42-13 in 1979), posting a 42-14 match record in their last season as a member of the AIAW.

In 1982, Sandra Sims became UM Volleyball's first ever NAIA All-American, earning honorable mention status. The `82 Lady Falcons also went to the NAIA National Championships for the first time in school history.

DR. BEVERLY WARREN
Meritorious Service

1991 UM Hall of Inductee, Dr. Beverly Warren helped build the Lady Falcon athletic program into a national power. Warren piloted the first ever Montevallo women's basketball team to a 7-2 mark in 1972-73. In 1977 she became head Volleyball coach.

Before joining the NAIA ranks, Warren-led squads claimed AIAW State Championship in 1979 and 1981, along with district titles in 1978, 1979 and 1981. During Warren's reign, Montevallo tied or set the school record for wins five times.

Warren was named Alabama AIAW Coach of the Year in 1979 and 1981 and NAIA District Coach of the Year in 1982, 83 and 84. Warren also served as past-president of the Alabama Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women and was a member of the NAIA District 27 Executive Committee and the NAIA Volleyball Coaches Association. She posted a 336-129-1 (.722) volleyball record and a 13-8 (.619) women's basketball mark.

Due to her tireless efforts and success, the Lady Falcon athletic department enjoyed many years of success at the national and state level.
