AUGUSTA, Ga. The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (25-8) ended its postseason run with a 79-71 loss in the Sweet Sixteen to Augusta State University (29-3). The Falcons gave the Jaguars everything they could handle but a 22-7 advantage on the free throw line gave the Jags an eight-point win. The Falcons were led by All-Tournament performers Freddy Little (Raleigh, N.C./Bunn) and Mark Plaza (San Diego, Calif./Chula Vista) who combined for 43 of the Falcons 71 points. Little had 23 points while hitting five three-pointers. Plaza had 20 points and seven assists.

AUGUSTA, Ga. The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (25-7) used a 88-71 win over USC Aiken (20-11) to advance to their fifth NCAA Regional Final in as many tries. This is the fifth regional final under current head coach Danny Young in just seven seasons. The Falcons will take on the winner of the Augusta State and Anderson game on Tuesday, March 16 at 7 p.m. (EST).

MONTEVALLO, Ala. The University of Montevallo baseball team (6-18, 0-8 PBC) dropped a pair of conference games to 6th-ranked Columbus State University (18-2, 2-0 PBC) 8-4 and 12-9. The Falcons were led by senior Kevin Garcia (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico/Dunedin) who went 4-for-7 with two homeruns, three runs scored and three RBI. Senior Chris Sosebee (Warrior, Ala./Sumiton Christian) led the Falcons in RBIs with four as he went 4-for-9 with a double, a homerun and a two runs scored.

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Four players finished in double figures as the seventh-seeded University of Montevallo mens basketball team upset second-seeded Mount Olive College 84-70 in the quarterfinals of the 2010 NCAA Division II Mens Basketball Southeast Regional at Christenberry Fieldhouse in Augusta, Ga.

MONTEVALLO, Ala. The University of Montevallo baseball teams series opener with No. 6 Columbus State University has been rescheduled due to the threat of inclement weather today and field conditions. The Falcons were originally scheduled to play CSU this afternoon (March 12) at 3 p.m. The game has been moved to Sunday, March 14 at 1 p.m. Tomorrows doubleheader will be played as originally scheduled at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
