MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The University of Montevallo baseball team (13-5-1) returned to form against Bluefield State College (3-3), 8-1 and 11-1. The Falcons were rolling on all cylinders as the pitchers allowed just five hits over two games and the bats drove in 19 runs. The Big Blues scored their lone run in the third as a pair of hits led to a run. The Falcons responded with three more runs in the bottom half as Sosebee hit another double that drove in two runs. Luckie then hit an RBI single to center field to make the Falcons lead 6-1.

Luckie led off the sixth inning with a homerun to right centerfield and later on in the inning senior Jeremy Jones (Troy, Ala./Lurleen B. Wallace C.C.) hit a sacrifice fly to center filed to score senior Dustin Rhodes (Starkville, Miss./Starkville). That would end the Falcons scoring as they won 8-1.

In game two, Daugherty started things off once again with a lead-off homerun.

The Falcons then went on to score five runs in the second off of six hits. The Big Blues then scored their lone run in the third which was matched by the Falcons in the bottom half.
