CARROLLTON, Ga. - The University of Montevallo baseball team (21-22-1, 3-11 GSC East) fell in a doubleheader at the University of West Georgia (13-23, 4-4 GSC East), 3-2 and 14-4. The second game was called due to lighting following the sixth inning. UM was led by junior Andy Revell (Albertville, Ala./Snead State C.C.) who had three hits including a double and an RBI.

In game one six Falcons each got a hit. Revell had a double and an RBI and junior Kevin Garcia (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico/Gulf Coast C.C.) had a solo homerun for Montevallo's second run.

Junior Caleb McLeod (Pleasant Grove, Ala./Shelton State C.C.) pitched a complete game on the mound striking out eight and walking just one. He held the Wolves to just six hits but took home the 3-2 loss.

In game two sophomore Joe Prokop (Clanton, Ala./Chilton County) and Revell went 2-for-3. Prokop had a solo homerun good for an RBI. Junior Nelson Garcia, Jr. (Tampa, Fla./Sickles) was 1-for-3 with two RBI. The final RBI came from senior Jeremy Jones (Troy, Ala./Lurleen B. Wallace C.C.).

On the mound junior John Michael Caraway (Trussville, Ala./Gadsden State C.C.) got the start going 3.2 innings while striking out two. He was relieved by junior Taylor Edwards (Pleasant Grove, Ala./Northwest Shoals C.C.) who went one third of an inning while walking one and junior Justin Aaron (Morris, Ala./Jefferson State C.C.) pitched the final 1.1 innings with two walks.

The Falcons struck first in game one as Revell doubled home Jones in the sixth to take a 1-0 lead. They added to their lead in the seventh as Garcia led off the inning with a solo shot.

The Wolves responded in the eighth with three runs and the Falcons were unable to respond in the top of the ninth falling 3-2.

In game two it was once again the Falcons who got on the board first. Prokop led off the second with a solo homerun to right center to give UM an early 1-0 lead. The Wolves quickly responded in the third with another three-run inning to take a 3-1 lead.

The Falcons matched the Wolves three-run inning with one of their own. In the fourth Garcia, Jr. singled to score two runs and then Jones grounded out to score the lead-changing run giving the Falcons a 4-3 lead.

The Wolves went on to retake the lead in the bottom half with another three-run inning. Up 6-4 the Wolves exploded in the fifth to plate eight runs and secure a 14-4 win.
