Sosebee Named PBC Player of the Week
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Senior first baseman Chris Sosebee (Warrior, Ala./Sumiton Christian) of the University of Montevallo baseball team (12-30, 5-16 PBC) was named Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week. This is the first PBC Player of the Week for Sosebee and second honor for the team. Sosebee joins fellow senior Kevin Garcia (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico/Dunedin) as the only Falcons to be named Player of the Week.
Sosebee had eight hits in his 15 at-bats last week, all of them for extra bases. The senior hit .533 with a 1.600 slugging percentage as he had four doubles and four home runs. He hit .600 in a three-game series with Flagler, smashing all four of his home runs for a 2.000 slugging percentage. He had two homers in the opener and one each in the next two games as the Falcons took the series. For the week he had 12 RBIs, 10 against Flagler, and did not commit an error at first in 53 chances. Now ranked third in the PBC in homers, fifth in slugging and RBIs and ninth in batting average.
Sosebee and the Falcons will return to action tomorrow, April 13 at 6:00 p.m. as they take on 15th-ranked Delta State University at home.
