Meredith Waldrop Tabbed as Next Cheerleading Coach
MONTEVALLO, Ala. – University of Montevallo Athletic Director Jim Herlihy announced Thursday the hiring of Meredith Waldrop as the next coach of the UM Cheerleading squad.
Waldrop has been a part of the Montevallo family since stepping on campus as a student in 2000. She spent four years as a member of the UM cheerleading squad and was named captain for her final two years. She was a four-year cheerleader in high school and also coached her high school team while a student at UM.
She is currently the assistant to the Vice President for Institutional Planning and Effectiveness and has been in that position since February of 2008. She graduated from UM in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in family and consumer sciences with a concentration in interior design and a minor in business.
