Mens Basketball Head Coach Danny Young to Host Individual Camp
MONTEVALLO, Ala. Head coach Danny Young of the University of Montevallo mens basketball team has announced that he will host his own basketball camp, Danny Youngs Individual Camp, running from June 22 - 24. The camp will be a three-day camp for boys aged 5-14 years old.

Falcons Fall in Postseason Clash with Arkansas-Monticello, 76-63
SOUTHAVEN, Miss. The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (15-16) fell in a tough battle with the University of Arkansas-Monticello (20-8), 76-63. The Falcons out-shot the Boll Weevils 46.7 percent to 37.1 percent but only took 45 shots compared to UAMs 62.

Little and Flowers Named to the All-GSC Teams
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. The University of Montevallo mens basketball team was awarded a pair of players on the All-Gulf South Conference Teams. Junior Freddy Little (Raleigh, North Carolina) was named to the First Team All-GSC East Division Team while junior Nate Flowers (Waldorf, Maryland) was named All-GSC East Second Team.

MONTEVALLO, Ala. The University of Montevallo mens and womens basketball teams have both been awarded spots in the Gulf South Conference Basketball Tournament. The women will take to the court first as they play on Wednesday, March 4 at 12:30 p.m. against Ouachita Baptist University. The men will follow suit at 2:45 p.m. on March 4 against the University of Arkansas-Monticello.

Falcons Clinch Sixth-Straight Trip to Gulf South Conference Tournament
MONTEVALLO, Ala. The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (15-15, 5-7 GSC East) fell tonight to the University of West Alabama (13-14, 5-7 GSC East), 60-48 but still clinched a spot in the Gulf South Conference Tournament. This will be the sixth-straight trip for the Falcons as they will enter as the No. 5 seed in the East Division. The Falcons also honored five seniors who played in their final game inside Bank Trust Arena.

Falcons Soar by Southeastern Bible, 89-66
MONTEVALLO, Ala. The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (15-14) was hitting on all cylinders as they dominated Southeastern Bible College (10-19), 89-66. The Falcons out-rebounded the visiting Sabers 47-24 while having two players achieve double-doubles. Junior Gerald January (Macon, Georgia) and senior Vernon Lewis (Dallas, Texas) each had 10 rebounds while January scored 18 and Lewis contributed 14 points.

Falcons Fall to Conference Leader Valdosta State, 74-64
VALDOSTA, Ga. The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (14-14, 5-6 GSC East) fell at the hands of Valdosta State University (20-5, 8-3 GSC East), 74-64, but the teams hopes of a sixth straight trip to the Gulf South Conference Tournament are still alive. With a win against the University of West Alabama on Feb. 28 at home the Falcons will enter the tournament as either the fourth or fifth seed in the Eastern Division.

Falcons Lose Heartbreaker at West Florida, 67-64
PENSACOLA, Fla. The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (14-13, 5-5 GSC East) fell just short of a victory as the University of West Florida (13-10, 5-5 GSC East) just edged the Falcons, 67-64. The Falcons were led by junior Nate Flowers (Waldorf, Maryland) and senior Terrill Humphrey (St. Augustine, Florida) who scored 17 and 16, respectively. The Argonauts shot 32 free throws compared to the Falcons 13 which created a huge disadvantage for the visiting team.

Little Named GSC East Division Player of the Week
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Junior guard Freddy Little (Raleigh, North Carolina) of the University of Montevallo mens basketball team (14-12, 5-4 GSC East) was named Gulf South Conference East Division Player of the Week. Little is the second different UM honoree this season, notching his first-ever award in the Falcons 1-1 week at home. The junior averaged 28.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in 42.0 minutes, while shooting 55.6 percent from the floor and 91.7 percent from the charity stripe.

Falcons Survive Double-Overtime Thriller, 103-98
MONTEVALLO, Ala. The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (14-12, 5-4 GSC East) had the privilege of watching a two-man show in regulation courtesy of juniors Freddy Little (Raleigh, North Carolina) and Gerald January (Macon, Georgia). The two combined for 27 of the Falcons 31 first half points and then scored 29 of UMs 38 points in the second. Junior Nate Flowers (Waldorf, Maryland) then took off in overtime scoring all 21 of his points in the extra periods.

The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (12-11, 4-3 GSC East) used a strong second half to down the number one team in the Gulf South Conference East Division, the University of Alabama-Huntsville (14-7, 5-2 GSC East), 79-76. Senior Terrill Humphrey (St. Augustine, Florida) scored a season-high 25 points and dished out a team-high five assists in the winning effort to lead the Falcons.

Falcons Slow Start Leads to 70-58 Loss
MONTEVALLO, Ala. The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (11-11, 3-3 GSC East) got off to a slow start as the University of West Alabama (9-11, 2-4 GSC East) out-scored the Falcons 22-5 over the first 10 minutes of the game. The Falcons went on to out-score the Tigers 53-48 over the final 30 minutes but it would not be enough to overcome the 17-point deficit.

Flowers Named GSC East Division Player of the Week
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Junior forward Nate Flowers (Waldorf, Maryland) of the University of Montevallo mens basketball team (11-10, 3-2 GSC East) was named Gulf South Conference East Division Player of the Week. Flowers takes home his second award in three weeks after leading UM to a 2-0 home record last week. The junior averaged 20.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in 28.5 minutes, while shooting 56.5 percent from the field and 93.8 percent from the foul line.

Montevallo Extinguishes the Blazers, 79-63
MONTEVALLO, Ala. The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (11-10, 3-2 GSC East) continued on its hot-streak beating Valdosta State University (15-4, 3-2 GSC East), 79-63. The Blazers came into the game with only three loses on their record and riding a three-game win streak. All that did not matter to the Falcons as they came out on fire and led from the opening buzzer to the end. Juniors Nate Flowers (Waldorf, Maryland) and Freddy Little (Raleigh, North Carolina) split the game in half as Flowers dominated the first half scoring 18 of his 23 points in the opening stanza while Little took over in the second half scoring 15 of his 20 points in the final period.

The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (10-10, 2-2 GSC East) evened up both its overall record and conference record with a 79-69 win over the University of West Florida (9-8, 1-3 GSC East). The Falcons pulled away late to take the conference victory away from the Argos. Falcons Offense Explodes in Victory over Carver Bible
MONTEVALLO, Ala. The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (9-10) had its offense and defense in tune as it shut down Carver Bible College (1-20) today (Jan. 17), 100-59. The Falcons had five players score in double figures and hit 12 three-point shots down the stretch. They forced CBC to turn the ball over 25 times and scored 25 points off those turnovers.

The Falcons and Lions each shot over 54 percent from the field and combined for 175 points in just 40 minutes of play. The Falcons had five players in double-figures while the Lions countered with five of their own.

CLEVELAND, Miss. Trying to avenge a 99-87 loss earlier this season at home, the University of Montevallo mens basketball team (6-6) headed west for a rematch with Delta State University (7-2). The Statesmen used a strong first half to gain control of the game and eventually won, 89-79. The Falcons out-scored the Statesmen 49-46 in the second half but could not overcome a 13-point first half deficit.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (4-2) once again stumbled out of the gates but were able to overcome its slow start to win 73-70 at Flagler College (1-2). The Falcons fell behind 10-0 before scoring their first basket of the game almost seven minutes into the first half. UM was led by St. Augustine native Terrill Humphrey who was playing in his hometown for the first time since joining the Montevallo squad. Humphrey had a team-high 17 points and four assists.

The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (2-2) hit 18 three-pointers, which ranks second all-time in school history, en route to a 86-66 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic (0-1). The Falcons used an outstanding performance from junior guard Marcus Lancaster (Grand Rapids, Michigan) who scored 18 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out eight assists. Lancaster was 4-for-4 from three-point range and only missed three shots all game.

Humphrey and Brown Named to Preseason All-GSC Squad
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Senior guard Terrill Humphrey (St. Augustine, Florida) and junior forward Anthony Brown (Birmingham, Alabama) of the University of Montevallo mens basketball team were named to the Preseason All-Gulf South Conference East Division Team. Humphrey and Brown led last years UM team to a 12-16 finish with Humphrey ending the season ranked third in the conference in scoring.

Former UM Coach Bill Jones Passes Away
The University of Montevallos second mens basketball coach, Bill Jones, passed away late Tuesday night after an extended illness. He was 72. Visitation is set for 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at Greenview Funeral Home in Florence. Funeral services will be held at North Wood Methodist Church in Florence on Friday at 11 a.m.
