Falcons Fall in Postseason Clash with Arkansas-Monticello, 76-63


SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - The University of Montevallo men's basketball team (15-16) fell in a tough battle with the University of Arkansas-Monticello (20-8), 76-63. The Falcons out-shot the Boll Weevils 46.7 percent to 37.1 percent but only took 45 shots compared to UAM's 62.

The Falcons were led by junior Nate Flowers (Waldorf, Maryland) who came just two rebounds shy of another double-double with 16 points and eight boards. Senior Terrill Humphrey (St. Augustine, Florida) scored in double figures for the 47th time in his two year career, chipping in 14 points. Senior Andre McMillan (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) was the third highest scorer for the Falcons with 12 points.

The Boll Weevils took control early as they led for the first nine minutes of the game. The Falcons took their largest lead of the game as junior Freddy Little (Raleigh, North Carolina) hit back-to-back three pointers with 10:31 left in the first half to give UM a 20-16 advantage.

The Falcons led for the next five minutes until the Boll Weevils began a 13-4 run with 5:12 left in the half to take a 39-31 edge into halftime.

UM trailed the entire second half and saw the Boll Weevils lead grow to as much as 15. The Falcons were unable to claw their way back into the game as they fell 76-63 down the stretch.
