Falcons Pick Up First Win of the Season

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Anthony Brown (Birmingham, Alabama) led five Falcon double-figure scorers with 16 points to lead the University of Montevallo (1-2) to a 81-62 victory over Lees-McRae College (0-3) in final day action at the Disney Tip-Off Classic Sunday afternoon.

Nate Flowers (Waldorf, Maryland), All-Tournament Team member, posted his second double-double of the tournament with 14 points, while grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds. Marcus Lancaster (Grand Rapids, Michigan) added 13 points, while Andre McMillan (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) and Freddy Little (Raleigh, North Carolina) scored 10 points each.

Nick DeSchepper led LMC with a game-high 26 points, including four 3-point baskets.

UM overcame a double-digit first half deficit, to take a two-point (32-30) lead at intermission. An 8-0 run helped UM build a double digit lead late in the second half. The Falcons shot much better on Sunday, converting 55 percent (30-for-55) from the field, including 68 percent (19-for-28) from the field in the second half.

UM will host Palm Beach Atlantic University at the annual UM Coca-Cola Tournament Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
