January Named PBC Player of the Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Senior forward Gerald January (Macon, Ga./Westside) of the 13^th-ranked University of Montevallo men's basketball team (13-1, 3-1 PBC) was named Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week. This is the first PBC Player of the Week honor for both the team and January.

January averaged a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds per game as the 13th-ranked Falcons went 1-1 on the week. The senior opened up with 20 points and 11 boards as UM's rally fell one point short in a loss to North Georgia. January came back with 12 points and 11 rebounds in a road win at Flagler. For the week he shot 57% from the floor and averaged 2.5 blocks per game. With that effort, he moved into fourth place in the PBC in rebounding and is also sixth in field goal percentage and third in blocked shots.

January and the rest of the Falcons return to the court tonight, Jan. 18 at 6:30 p.m. as they travel to Armstrong Atlantic State University.
