Jabarr Adams enters his second season as an Assistant Coach of the University of Montevallo men's basketball program.
Adams helped guide the Falcons to the Peach Belt Conference West Division regular-season championship and 20 wins along with an appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament in his first season at Montevallo.
Adams helped coach a pair of All-Peach Belt Conference performers during the 2012-2013 season.
Adams came to Montevallo after spending four seasons as an assistant coach at Tarleton State University.
Adams helped lead the Texans to three-straight NCAA Division II Tournament appearances and saw the team capture the 2011-2012 Lone Star Conference championship. The Texans ranked first in the country in two seasons in points allowed per game and had a combined record of 93-28 during Adams’ four-year tenure at Tarleton State. He has helped develop four players who have gone on to play professionally overseas. He was a part of all aspects of the program including recruiting, on court coaching and academic advising. He served as the director of team travel, scheduling and film exchange.
Prior to Tarleton State, Adams spent two seasons as an assistant coach at UNC Pembroke. He also played two seasons at UNC Pembroke, where he earned the Joe Gallagher Captain Award in 2006 and the Lacey Gane “Mr. Plus” Award in 2004.
Adams is a 2006 graduate of UNC Pembroke with a bachelor’s degree in social work. He earned his master’s degree in physical education sport administration form UNC Pembroke in 2008.
