Falcons Finish Eighth at GSC Championship

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - The University of Montevallo men's golf played in its final Gulf South Conference Championship finishing eighth overall with a team score of 914, a shot shy of seventh position. The Falcons were led by junior Tripp Cash (Troy, Alabama) who finished in 14th with a three round score of 221.
The next highest place finisher for the Falcons was junior Jon Henderson (Fort Payne, Alabama) who came in tied for 26th with a three round score 226. Freshman Gonzalo Gambertoglio (Cordoba, Argentina) and senior Danny Hebert (Chilliwack, British Columbia) finished tied for 42nd place with a three round score of 236. The Falcons final golfer was freshman Aaron Ebert (Huron, Ohio) who finished 51st with a three round score of 242.
The Falcons finished eighth among the twelve team field. First time champions the University of North Alabama defeated the three-time defending champions the University of West Florida. Arkansas Tech's Jarred Carlyle took home the individual championship with a three round score of 209.
This concludes the Falcons 2008-09 season and their final season in the GSC. The Falcons will now move into the highly competitive Peach Belt Conference.
