Falcons Finish Sixth at Peach Belt Conference Tournament
PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The University of Montevallo men’s golf team closed out the 2009-10 season with a 6th-place finish at the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. UM finished ahead of Lander, Clayton State, Flagler, Georgia Southwestern and North Georgia. The Falcons were led by senior Tripp Cash (Troy, Ala./Pike) who finished tied for eighth overall with a three-round score of 224. Sophomore Aaron Ebert (Huron, Ohio/St. Mary's Central Catholic) came in just behind Cash in 16th place with a 226.
Junior Lee Callaway (Leeds, Ala./Leeds) placed 36th overall while senior Jon Henderson (Rainsville, Ala./Plainview) closed out his career with a 39th place finish. The final UM golfer was sophomore Gonzalo Gambertoglio (Cordoba, Argentina/Instituto General San Martin) who finished tied for 48th.
Ebert finishes the 2009-10 season with the lowest stroke average on the team with a 76.2 which is just ahead of Cash’s 76.5. Henderson is also in the mix with a 76.9.
The Falcons will look to continue to improve under first year head coach Justin Pratt next season as they focus on their off-season workouts and return to the course in the Fall of 2010.
