Three Falcons Named to PBC All-Academic Teams
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The University of Montevallo men’s golf team was awarded three players on the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Teams. Senior Tripp Cash (Troy, Ala./Pike) was named First Team All-Academic while sophomores Aaron Ebert (Huron, Ohio/St. Mary's Central Catholic) and Gonzalo Gambertoglio (Cordoba, Argentina/Instituto General San Martin) picked up Second Team nods.
These were the first PBC All-Academic honors for the men’s golf program in their first season as member of the Peach Belt Conference.
Cash holds a 3.86 GPA in accounting at Montevallo. Ebert has a 3.82 GPA in accounting while Gambertoglio holds a 4.00 GPA in management.
The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team’s events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee and select the teams.
