Falcons Wrap Up Fall Season at the Indian Bayou Classic
DESTIN, Fla. - The University of Montevallo men's golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule with a 13th place showing at the Indian Bayou Classic in Destin, Fla. The Falcons had to deal with some tough playing conditions on the first day but came back and cut six strokes of their score on the second day. UM finished ahead of Lambuth, Harding and Henderson State in the tournament.
The Falcons were led by sophomore Aaron Ebert (Huron, Ohio/St. Mary's Central Catholic) who shot a two round score of 152 and tied for 28th place. Junior Lee Callaway (Leeds, Ala./Leeds) and senior Tripp Cash (Troy, Ala./Pike) finished tied for 48th place with a two round score of 155 just three strokes behind Ebert. Sophomore Dustin Schaefer (Huntsville, Ala./Virgil I. Grissom) and senior Jon Henderson (Rainsville, Ala./Plainview) rounded out the Montevallo golfers with 80th and 88th place finishes, respectively.
The tournament was won by North Alabama who was the only team to shot under par with a 572.
The Falcons will return to action this spring as they look to build off the fall schedule under new head coach Justin Pratt.
