PINEVILLE, Ky. – The University of Montevallo men's golf team finished 10th at the Lincoln Memorial University Invitational in Pineville, Ky. The Falcons were led by senior Aaron Ebert (Huron, Ohio/St. Mary's Central Catholic) who shot a two-round score of 147 which is just three over par. He finished tied for 11th overall and shot a low round even par 72 on the first day of competition.
Sophomore Joe Haupt (Birmingham, Ala./Shades Mountain Christian) finished tied for 36th overall with a score of 152. He shot 76 in both rounds. Junior Andrew Lowry (Decatur, Ala./Wallace State C.C.) finished tied for 47th overall with a score of 154, just two strokes behind Haupt. He recovered well from a rough first day score of 81 to shoot a one-over par 73 on day two.
Junior Mariano Lepori (Posadas, Argentina) also had a rough first day score of 82 but also recovered well to shoot a day two 75. He finished tied for 59th overall. The final golfer in UM's starting five was senior Gonzalo Gambertoglio (Cordoba, Argentina/Instituto General San Martin) who shot a 158 good for 61st overall.
Senior Ruwaldt Viljoen (Johannesburg, South Africa/Dainfern College) played as an individual and finished tied for 79th with a score of 166.
UM was the only Peach Belt School at the event. The Falcons finished ahead of Southeast Region foe Limestone who finished 14th. King won the event followed by Pfeiffer and LMU.
