Falcons Finish Eleventh at Outback Steakhouse Intercollegiate

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – The University of Montevallo men's golf team finished 11th at the Outback Steakhouse Intercollegiate in Panama City Beach, Fla. The Falcons were led by junior Andrew Lowry (Decatur, Ala./Wallace State C.C.) who shot a two round score of 158 good for 34th overall. The Falcons finished ahead of Peach Belt Conference rival North Georgia College and State University who came in 14th while PBC foe Flagler tied for the lead and Columbus State University finished fourth.

Junior Mariano Lepori (Posadas, Argentina) finished with a score of 161 and 49th overall. Freshman Andres Morales (Cuernavaca, Mexico/Colegio Marymount) finished third on the team and 54th overall with a score of 162. Junior Austin Murphey (Opelika, Ala./Lee-Scott Academy) tied Morales with a 162 and shot the lowest single round for the team with a 72 in the first round.

The final UM golfer was freshman Juan Noce (Cordoba, Argentina) who finished 62nd overall with a score of 162.

The Falcons finished ahead of Central Alabama, Limestone, North Georgia, Catawba and Cape Fear.

The Falcons will return to action February 27-28 at the Mardi Gras Invitational in New Orleans, Louisiana.
