Three Falcons Named to PBC All-Academic Teams
AUGUSTA, Ga. - The University of Montevallo men's soccer team was awarded three players on the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Teams. Junior MilanPualic (Subotica, Serbia/Srednja Ekonosmka Skola School) was named First Team All-Academic while juniors Alex Ghoja (Elkmont, Ala./Bob Jones) and James Steer (Sheffield, England/Westfield School) picked up Second Team nods.
These were the first PBC All-Academic honors for the men's soccer program in their first season as member of the Peach Belt Conference. This is the second All-Academic honor for Pualic. Pualic was named to the Gulf South Conference All-Academic team last season.
Pualic holds a 3.54 GPA in marketing at Montevallo. Ghoja has a 3.39 GPA in kinesiology while Steer holds a 3.54 GPA in marketing.
The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee and select the teams.
