Eyo and Ledgeway Named to NSCAA All-Southeast Region Second Team

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men’s soccer team (12-5-4) was awarded two spots on the 2011 NSCAA Men's NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Teams. Senior midfielder Tyson Eyo (Liverpool, England/Florida Tech) and sophomore goalkeeper Brendan Ledgeway (York, England/All Saints) were named Second Team All-Southeast Region This is the first NSCAA selection for both Eyo and Ledgeway.

Men’s Soccer Receives NSCAA College Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The University of Montevallo men’s soccer team received the 2011 NSCAA College Team Academic Award which is awarded to any men’s or women’s soccer team who posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2010-11 academic year. The men’s soccer team compiled a 3.27 GPA as a team. The Falcons were one of just 218 men’s teams to receive the award. The University of Montevallo was among 153 schools to have both its men’s and women’s programs receive the award for 2011.

Falcons Fall in NCAA Opening Round, 3-0

MARS HILL, N.C. – The University of Montevallo men’s soccer team’s (12-5-4) season came to an end in the Opening Round of the NCAA Tournament. The Falcons fell on the road to Mars Hill College (12-5-1), 3-0. UM gave up a pair of first half goals and were never able to recover as the Lions’ defense held strong. The Falcons took nine shots on goal which was one more then the Lions but they were unable to get any past the MHC keeper who had eight saves on the night.

Four Falcons Honored by the PBC

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The University of Montevallo men’s soccer team was awarded three spots on the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team while one player was given an Honorable Mention. Junior Stephen Beatty (Mandeville, La./Saint Paul's School), senior Vance Curro (Hoover, Ala./Spain Park) and sophomore Jackson Tolleson (Katy, Texas/Cinco Ranch) were named to the PBC All-Academic Team while sophomore Ryuhei Nose (Sydney, Australia/Turramurra) was given an honorable mention.

Falcons Travel to Mars Hill for Opening Round of NCAA Tournament

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – For the second-straight season and sixth time overall, the University of Montevallo men’s soccer team (12-4-4) will take part in the NCAA Tournament. The Falcons earned the No. 5 seed in the Southeast Region and will take on Mars Hill College (11-5-1) this evening at 6 p.m. The game will be streamed live via MHC’s website and the game will also feature live stats. This will be the first meeting between the Falcons and Lions.
