AUGUSTA, Ga.- Sophomore Mark McDonald (Auburn, Ala./Auburn) and freshman Zackery Walsh (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville) of the University of Montevallo men’s cross country team were recently elected as the Chair and Vice Chair of the Peach Belt Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), respectively.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A banged up University of Montevallo men’s cross country team finished 21st at the NCAA Southeast Regionals. Without one of its top runners who was out due to illness the Falcons gutted out a tough 10k race in which they finished ahead of Pfeiffer, Francis Marion and Carson-Newman. Freshman Zackery Walsh (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville) led the Falcons with an 80th place finish with a time of 34:16.9. Freshman Nick Fasanello (Fairhope, Ala./Fairhope) was not far behind as he finished 91st with a time of 34:47.4.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Sophomore Evan Brock (Fairhope, Ala./Fairhope) of the University of Montevallo men’s cross country team was named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team. Brock was one of 13 runners selected for the honor. He becomes the first Montevallo men’s cross country runner to be named to the PBC All-Academic team in program history.

AIKEN, S.C.- The University of Montevallo men’s cross country team traveled to Aiken, South Carolina to compete in the 2011 Peach Belt Conference Championships. The Falcons finished seventh out of nine teams as they defeated Francis Marion University and Armstrong Atlantic State University. Sophomore Aaron Bush (Wilsonville, Ala./Shelby County) led the Falcons finishing 15th overall with a time of 27:27.87 which ranks third in the UM Record Book for top 8K times.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Freshman Zackery Walsh (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville) of the University of Montevallo men’s cross country team was named the Peach Belt Conference Runner of the Week. Walsh had another great race this past week as he led the team at the Queens University of Charlotte Royal Cross Country Challenge.
