ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The University of Montevallo women's basketball team (9-5, 2-2 PBC) evened up its Peach Belt Conference record with a key 66-40 victory on the road at Flagler College (6-7, 1-3 PBC). The Falcons outscored the Saints 31-14 in the first half and held Flagler to just 16.7 percent shooting from the floor in the period. UM was led by senior Amanda Scott (Cullman, Ala./West Point) who scored a game-high 17 points including 10 in the first half. She also grabbed seven boards and had two blocks.

UM dominated from the beginning as they scored six unanswered points to open the first half. FC was able to cut the lead to 9-6 but the Falcons responded with a 22-8 run to finish off the half up 31-14.
The second half began like the first half ended with the Falcons in control of the game and increasing their lead as time ticked down. The Saints were able to chop four points off that deficit before time expired as the Falcons ended the game up 66-40.
The Falcons will return to action Monday, Jan. 18 at 4:30 p.m. as they travel to Armstrong Atlantic State University for another tough Peach Belt Conference contest. AASU is 6-7 on the season and 3-2 in PBC play.
