>>>Full Belmont Release

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo Department of Athletics announced Tuesday that head women’s basketball coach Brittney Ezell has accepted the head coaching position at Division I Belmont University and will not return for the 2010-11 season at Montevallo.

The university will seek a full-time replacement, according to Athletic Director Jim Herlihy, opening a national search to begin immediately.

Ezell led the Falcon program for two seasons compiling a record of 22-33. Ezell led the Falcons to a 14-13 record this past season which was only the second winning season in program history since the Falcons joined the NCAA in 1996. She also coached the Falcons to the Gulf South Conference Tournament in her first season at the helm and doubled their conference win total from two to four.
