#5 Clayton State Smothers Falcons, 85-50

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women’s basketball team (8-12, 3-8 PBC) fell to defending National Champions and fifth-ranked Clayton State University (20-2, 10-1 PBC), 85-50. The Falcons shot 45.1 percent from the field but the Clayton State defense forced 27 UM turnovers which converted into a 31-6 advantage in points off turnovers. UM was led by senior Davia Harris (Memphis, Tenn./Three Rivers C.C.) who scored 14 points, grabbed five rebounds and blocked three shots. Junior Zena Nasiloski (Hammond, Ind./Northeast C.C.) chipped in 13 points and six boards while freshman Taylor Beverly (Brandon, Miss./Northwest Rankin) had 12 points and five boards.

Falcons Tame Bobcats, 61-47

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The University of Montevallo women’s basketball team (8-11, 3-7 PBC) picked up a key Peach Belt Conference victory on the road at Georgia College and State University (4-15, 2-8 PBC), 61-47. The Falcons led almost the entire way using a balanced attack. UM had three scorers in double-figures and all eight Falcons who stepped on the court scored at least one point. Freshman Taylor Beverly (Brandon, Miss./Northwest Rankin) led the way with 18 points and five rebounds while hitting 8-of-9 from the free throw line. Junior Zena Nasiloski (Hammond, Ind./Northeast C.C.) added a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards. She also led the team in steals with four and tied for the lead in assists with three. Senior Tiffany McClure (Montgomery, Ala./Tallahassee C.C.) rounded out the double-digit scorers with 14 points, three rebounds and three assists.

Falcons Comeback Falls Short, 64-59

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women’s basketball team (7-11, 2-7 PBC) once again dropped a heartbreaker this time to Augusta State University (10-10, 5-7 PBC), 64-59. The Falcons trailed by as many as 17 points in the second half but used a furious comeback to cut the lead just one with 1:12 left on the clock but that would be as close as they would get. UM was led by freshman Taylor Beverly (Brandon, Miss./Northwest Rankin) who scored 16 points. Junior Teanna Boxley (Mesa, Ariz./Arizona Western College) chipped in 14 points while senior Shavonne Seymore (Hartsville, S.C./Northwest Florida State College) led the team in rebounding with six and scored nine points.

#15 Pacers Edge Falcons, 52-47

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women’s basketball team (7-10, 2-6 PBC) suffered another heartbreaking loss this time at the hands of 15th-ranked USC Aiken (16-2, 9-1 PBC). The Falcons were led by junior Teanna Boxley (Mesa, Ariz./Arizona Western College) who scored 13 points. Senior Shavonne Seymore (Hartsville, S.C./Northwest Florida State College) added 11 points while freshman Taylor Beverly (Brandon, Miss./Northwest Rankin) chipped in eight points and a team-high six rebounds.
