Falcons Finish Tenth at Flagler Fall Slam

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The University of Montevallo women's golf team wrapped up its fall season with a tenth place finish at the Flagler College Fall Slam. The team finished 10^th out of 20 teams and sophomore Emily Gibson (Toronto, Ontario) was the teams best individual finisher at 13.

Gibson struggled on day one shooting an 82 but rebounded on day two shooting a tournament low 72. The 72 even par round ranks as the school record at the University of Montevallo.

Montevallo's number two finisher was freshman Emma Breen (Swindon, England) who came in at 29 with a two round score of 161.  Not far behind was sophomore Britney Martin (Fishers, Indiana) who came in 37 with a two round score of 164.

Junior Rachel Shaner (Madison, Alabama) and sophomore Heather Mutton (Dunstable, England) rounded out the scorers finishing 62^nd and 73^rd, respectively.

Five of the top 20 teams in the country competed at the tournament including conference-rival West Florida. Montevallo was able to best a number of region opponents including host Flagler College, Saint Leo University and Eckerd College.
