Falcons Fall to Birmingham Southern in Dual Match

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women’s golf team took on Birmingham Southern College in a dual match at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Oxmoor Valley course and fell 318-361. UM was led by sophomore Emma Breen (Swindon, England/Kingsdown) who finished fifth overall and nine strokes behind the leader. BSC’s Ashley Lovell won the event with a one round score of 77.

Breen finished with an 86. Freshmen Kayla Witt (Gardendale, Ala./Gardendale) and Kaylee Hale (Dothan, Ala./Northside Methodist)  finished sixth and seventh overall with scores of 88 and 92, respectively. Senior Rachel Shaner (Madison, Alabama/Bob Jones) placed ninth with a 95. While senior Angela Buonassisi (Coquitlam, British Columbia/Terry Fox) played her first round of collegiate golf and finished with a 125.

The Falcons will return to action Tuesday, April 6 as they take on North Georgia College and State University and Shorter College in a tri-match at Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega, Ga.
