Falcons Wrap Up Season with Sixth Place Finish at PBC Championship

PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The University of Montevallo women's golf team wrapped up its 2011-12 season with a sixth-place finish at the 2012 Peach Belt Conference Championships. UM was led by freshman Megan Clyne (Aberdeen, Scotland/Harlaw Academy) who placed eighth overall with a two-round score of 154. The Falcons finished ahead of North Georgia College and State University while Armstrong Atlantic State University won the event with a score of 615.

The Falcons shot a team score of 646 which was 14 strokes ahead of seventh place and seven strokes behind fifth place.

Freshman Ashlee Beck (Athens, Ala./Ardmore) was second for the Falcons and tied for 14th overall with a score of 159. Senior Emma Breen (Swindon, England/Kingsdown) was four shots back with a 163 and tied for 20th overall.

Sophomore Hilary Shaner (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones) shot a 172 and placed 31st while sophomore Tracey Marshall (Newfields, N.H./Heritage Academy) finished in 32nd with a score of 173.

Clyne shot the Falcons lowest round of the tournament with an even par 72 in the second round. Beck and Breen each shot 78 to finish tied for second for lowest round of the tournament for a Falcon.
