BIRMINGHAM, Ala. The University of Montevallo womens golf team opened up the 2009-10 season with a ninth-place finish at the Ann Rhoads 'Southern Shootout hosted by Birmingham Southern College. The Falcons were led by junior Emily Gibson (Toronto, Ontario/North Toronto Collegiate) who finished tied for fifth and was named to the All-Tournament team.

CLEVELAND Twenty-two Montevallo student-athletes were honored by the Division II Athletics Directors Association for their academic achievements. The student-athletes were honored with the 2008-09 DII ADA Academic Achievement Awards presented by WeatherPORT.

MONTEVALLO, Ala. Justin Pratt has been named the new head golf coach for the mens and womens golf programs at the University of Montevallo. Pratt becomes the first full-time golf coach in the programs history.

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. The University of Montevallo golf teams placed four on the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Golf Team. University of Montevallo golfers Aaron Ebert (Huron, Ohio), Britney Martin (Fishers, Indiana), Rachel Shaner (Madison, Alabama) and Tripp Cash (Troy, Alabama) led the way for the University as Montevallo was the top school in Division II with four golfers on the list. Eight schools placed three golfers on the prestigious list just shy of Montevallos mark.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. The University of Montevallo womens golf team was awarded two honors by the Gulf South Conference. The Falcons were honored with the GSC Freshman of the Year and awarded a spot on the All-Gulf South Conference First Team.
