ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The University of Montevallo women’s golf team traveled to St. Augustine, Florida to compete at the Flagler Fall Slam. The 20-team field featured four teams ranked in the top-25 of the Golf World/NGCA Division II Poll. The Falcons finished with a two-round score of 691 which was good for 17th but just two strokes out of a tie for 15th. Freshman Ashlee Beck (Athens, Ala./Ardmore) led the Falcons with a score of 165 which tied her for 45th overall.

CALERA, Ala. – Freshman Ashlee Beck (Athens, Ala./Ardmore) led the University of Montevallo women’s golf team to a second place finish at the Full Moon Bar-B-Que Montevallo Intercollegiate at Timberline Golf Course in Calera, Ala. Beck shot a two round score of 152 to finish first in the field of 24. She sat in second after the first round but was able to catch the leader and eventually win the tournament by two strokes. As a team the Falcons finished just three strokes behind Columbus State University who won the tournament.

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Montevallo women’s golf team finished fifth at the Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate hosted by Carson Newman College. The Falcons were one of three Peach Belt Conference schools at the event. Columbus State University finished second overall while North Georgia finished one spot back from the Falcons in sixth. UM was led by freshman Ashlee Beck (Athens, Ala./Ardmore) who finished tied for sixth overall with a two round score of 157. She shot a season low 75 during the second round of competition.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women’s golf team finished eighth at the Chris Banister Gamecock Classic in Huntsville, Alabama. UM was led by junior Kaylee Hale (Dothan, Ala./Northside Methodist) who finished tied for 36th with a score of 84. The tournament was scheduled to be played on Monday and Tuesday of this week but due to Tropical Storm Lee the event was cut to just one round played it rain-soaked conditions. The field consisted of seven Division I teams and Montevallo.

STRATHAM, N.H. – University of Montevallo women’s golfer Tracey Marshall (Newfields, N.H./Heritage Academy) competed at the New Hampshire Women’s Golf Association Championship July 26-28 and came away with an eighth-place finish in a field of 68. Marshall shot a 79 in round one, an 87 in round two and an 83 in round three to finish with a three round score of 249.
