Three Falcons Named to PBC All-Academic Teams

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The University of Montevallo women's soccer team was awarded three players on the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Teams. Senior Erin Duncan (Orlando, Fla./Olympia) and junior Alex Terhar (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) were named Second Team All-Academic while sophomore Michaela Moertzsch (Peine, Germany/Gymnasium am Silberkamp) picked up a Third Team nod.

These were the first PBC All-Academic honors for the women's soccer program in their first season as member of the Peach Belt Conference. This is the first All-Academic team nod for all three players.

Duncan holds a 3.68 GPA in biology at Montevallo while Terhar has a 3.67 GPA in chemistry and Moertzsch holds a 3.56 GPA in management.

The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee and select the teams.
