Women’s Soccer Receives NSCAA College Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The University of Montevallo women’s soccer team received the 2011 NSCAA College Team Academic Award which is awarded to any men’s or women’s soccer team who posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2010-11 academic year. The women’s soccer team compiled a 3.37 GPA as a team. The Falcons were one of just 571 women’s teams to receive the award. The University of Montevallo was among 153 schools to have both its men’s and women’s programs receive the award for 2011.

UM was among the 10 Peach Belt Conference schools to represent the PBC on the list. All but one PBC women’s soccer team received the award.

The Falcons compiled a 6-11-2 record during the 2010 season and had two student-athletes named to the All-Conference Team. UM advanced to the First Round of the PBC Tournament where they fell to UNC Pembroke, 2-0. The Falcons had 14 student-athletes named to the PBC Presidential Honor Roll that season which was second among UM teams.
