Second Half Goal Downs Falcons, 1-0

VALDOSTA, Ga. – The University of Montevallo women's soccer team (1-3) went back-and-forth with the Blazers of Valdosta State University (4-0) but was unable give VSU their first setback of the season. The Blazers used an early second half goal to win their fourth game of the season.

The Falcons and Blazers played to a 0-0 halftime score as VSU out-shot the Falcons 6-2. Kaitlin Thomas (Calgary, Alberta/Foothills Composite) made one save in goal for the Falcons in the first half while VSU's keeper did not face a shot on goal.

Just 1:52 into the second half Abbi Edwards found Rebecca Miller behind the defense inside the box and she was able to beat the keeper to the far post to give VSU a 1-0 lead. UM out-shot the Blazers 7-4 in the second half but were unable to get one past the VSU keeper.

Freshmen Octavia Saunders (Westward Ho, England/Filton College) and Camilla Alderin (Oslo, Norway/Persbraten Videregaende Skole) led the Falcons with two shots each while five others had one shot a piece.
