FLORENCE, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's soccer team (4-9) gave up three goals in the span of three minutes and 53 seconds with just under 20 minutes to play in the game to fall 3-0 to the University of North Alabama (11-3) on the road. UM had held the Lions scoreless for 71 minutes but a flurry of offense gave the Lions the lopsided victory despite the closely played game.
UM had four shots in the game with just one on goal. Freshman Octavia Saunders (Westward Ho, England/Filton College) provided the lone shot on goal.
Junior Alyssa Maxwell (Surrey, British Columbia/Semiahmoo) played all 90 minutes in goal as she made three saves on the night.
UNA had 18 shots including six on goal.
Chloe Roberts scored the first goal at the 71:08 mark. She was followed by Jennifer Osmond who scored at the 72:49 mark and Heather Farmer who finished off the scoring at 75:01.
Alex McLay took home the shutout victory for the Lions as she made one save.
The Falcons will return to action Saturday, Oct. 15 at 1:00 p.m. as they host Peach Belt Conference foe Armstrong Atlantic State University.
