MONTEVALLO, Ala. — The University of Montevallo women's soccer team defeated Barry 2-1 in its home opener Aug. 31.
Jade Pennock scored both goals in the victory.
Pennock's first goal came following a loose ball in the box in the 63rd minute off an assist from Paige Scott. Pennock added a second goal, unassisted, just more than one minute later on a takeaway.
Montevallo goalkeeper Kaitlin Thomas recorded three saves in the season-opening victory.
The Falcons will return to action Sept. 2 on the road at West Georgia.
