Rosato Named to All-Southeast Region Third Team

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women’s soccer team was awarded one spot on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas All-Southeast Region Teams. Senior Kristin Rosato (Pinson, Ala./Clay-Chalkville) was named to the Third Team. Rosato becomes just the second player in UM history to be named to the All-Southeast Region teams since joining the Falcons moved to the Peach Belt Conference and the Southeast Region in 2009.

Women’s Soccer Receives NSCAA College Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The University of Montevallo women’s soccer team received the 2011 NSCAA College Team Academic Award which is awarded to any men’s or women’s soccer team who posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2010-11 academic year. The women’s soccer team compiled a 3.37 GPA as a team. The Falcons were one of just 571 women’s teams to receive the award. The University of Montevallo was among 153 schools to have both its men’s and women’s programs receive the award for 2011.

Four Falcons Honored by the PBC

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The University of Montevallo women’s soccer team was awarded two spots on the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team while two players were given an Honorable Mention. Sophomores Taylor Kerr (Birmingham, Ala./Vestavia Hills) and Kaitlin Thomas (Calgary, Alberta/Foothills Composite) were named to the PBC All-Academic Team while sophomore Asgerdur Palsdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland/Verzlunarskoli Islands) and senior Michaela Moertzsch (Peine, Germany/Gymnasium am Silberkamp) were given honorable mention.

Thomas Named Academic All-District

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Sophomore goalkeeper Kaitlin Thomas (Calgary, Alberta/ Foothills Composite) of the University of Montevallo women’s soccer team was named Academic All-District 3 by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Thomas was one of just two athletes with a perfect 4.00 GPA in District 3 which includes schools from the Conference Carolinas, Peach Belt Conference, South Atlantic Conference.

Rosato Named Second Team All-Conference

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Senior defender Kristin Rosato (Pinson, Ala./Clay-Chalkville) of the University of Montevallo women’s soccer team was named Second Team All-Peach Belt Conference. Rosato played in all 18 games for the Falcons this season and became the all-time leader in the Montevallo Record Book for career games played. She was the leader on the Falcons defense and served as the team captain.
