Falcons Defeat Southern Arkansas at GSC Crossovers

JACKSON, Miss. - The University of Montevallo tennis team (2-3) traveled to Jackson, Mississippi to compete in the Gulf South Conference East/West Crossovers and took home a victory and a pair of losses. The Falcons started out the weekend with a 7-2 victory over Southern Arkansas University before falling to Arkansas Tech 8-1. On Saturday UM took on Henderson State University and fell by the narrowest of margins, 5-4.

Junior Kristi Kelly (Tallahassee, Florida) led the way going 5-1 over the weekend winning 2-of-3 singles matches and all three of her doubles. No. 1 player Alex Mangum (San Antonio, Texas) went 3-3 going 1-2 in singles and 2-1 in doubles.

The Falcons will now head to Tuskegee University on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m.
