Falcons Split During Trip to Georgia

VALDOSTA, Ga. - The University of Montevallo tennis team (8-4, 0-1 GSC) won its sixth-straight match before dropping its first conference match of the year. The Falcons first headed to Fort Valley State University in the morning and defeated the Wildcats 5-2. The match had to end early due to weather but it did not stop the Falcons from gaining a large enough lead to capture the match. In the second match of the day the falcons headed to Valdosta State University for their first conference match of the season. The Lady Blazers were ready to go as they handed the Falcons a 9-0 loss.

Junior Kristi Kelly (Tallahassee, Florida) and freshman Helene Nordgreen (Bergen, Norway) went 2-0 against FVSU to lead the team. Freshman Ashlyn Bolton (Chattanooga, Tennessee) and sophomore Kelley Vaughn (Hoover, Alabama) each went 1-0 but were unable to complete their singles matches due to the weather.

The Falcons will return to the court on Saturday, March 14 at 9:00 a.m. as they travel to Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida.
