Mangum and Kelly Named to All-GSC East Division Second Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Montevallo women's tennis team (10-9) received two slots on the All-Gulf South Conference East Division Second Team. Juniors Alex Mangum (San Antonio, Texas) and Kristi Kelly (Tallahassee, Florida) were named Second Team All-GSC East.

This is the first time in school history that the Falcons have had two members make the All-GSC team. The Falcons just finished their best season since 2003 when they compiled 12 wins.

Mangum played in the No. 1 slot in both doubles and singles for the Falcons throughout the season setting the tone for many of the matches. Kelly was No. 2 in singles and doubles. Mangum won 16 matches this season including singles and doubles while Kelly picked up 22 victories. 

The Falcons concluded their best season in over 6 years and will look forward to the 2009-2010 season as they enter the Peach Belt Conference.
