Emily Blackwood enters her senior year this year for the University of Montevallo Falcons. In 2009 she finished with an overall record of 8-11 with a six match winning streak. In 17 out of 18 contests Blackwood was paired with teammate Alex Mangum for doubles finishing with a 7-11 record. She played throughout the 2008-09 season in the number four singles position.

Emily joined the Falcons after two seasons at Central Alabama Community College. She won the state tournament as the number four singles player at CACC. She attended West Point High School in Cullman, Ala. and played for Coach Smithson.
 
A kinesiology major at UM, she is the daughter of Sherry Blackwood. She has three sisters, Amber (Thornton), Haley and Celina.
