Alex Mangum enters her final year for the University of Montevallo Falcons. In 2009 she played in the number one position and finished with a 6-13 record. Mangum was paired with teammate Emily Blackwood for doubles for 17 out of 18 contests finishing with a 7-11 record.
Alex joined the Falcons after two seasons at Central Alabama
Community College. While at CACC she won the state championship in
2007 and 2008. She was named the team MVP in 2008 and finished
8th in the ITA doubles. She prepped at John Marshall
High School in San Antonio, Texas under Coach Doug McKee. Her team
won the district championship during her freshman and sophomore
seasons.
A political science major with a minor in pre-law at UM, she is the
daughter of Roger and Mollie Mangum. She has one brother, Roger
Jr., and two sisters, Samantha and Kymberlee.
