Falcons Fall in Close Match with Mobile, 5-4
MOBILE, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women’s tennis team (5-12) dropped a close match with the University of Mobile on Tuesday (March 30). The Falcons fell 5-4 on the road. Junior Calli Robinson (Adel, Ga./Cook) was the only double-winner on the day as she won both her single and doubles matches.
Robinson won the No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-1 and then teamed up with senior Kristi Kelly (Tallahassee, Fla./Lawton Chiles) to take the No. 2 doubles 8-0. Senior Emily Blackwood (Cullman, Ala./West Point) won her singles match in the most competitive match of the day at No. 4. She won 3-6, 6-3 (10-4). Junior Kodi Bobo (Cullman, Ala./West Point) was the only other winner on the day as she won No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-1.
The women’s tennis team returns to action tomorrow, April 1 at 3 p.m. as the Falcons host Stillman College at the UM Tennis Complex.
