MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women’s tennis team (7-12) won its second-straight match by a score of 9-0. Seniors Alex Mangum (San Antonio, Texas/John Marshall), Kristi Kelly (Tallahassee, Fla./Lawton Chiles) and Emily Blackwood (Cullman, Ala./West Point) all won two matches. Kelly won the No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-4 and then teamed up with junior Calli Robinson (Adel, Ga./Cook) to win the No. 2 doubles 8-1. The only other winner for the Falcons was sophomore Helene Nordgreen (Bergen, Norway/Bergen Handels Gymnasium) who won the No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-0.
The Falcons will return to action Wednesday, April 7 at 12 p.m. as they travel to Clayton State University to close out the Peach Belt Conference portion of their season.
