Falcons Fall in Final Conference Match of the Season, 9-0
MORROW, Ga. – The University of Montevallo women’s tennis team (7-13, 1-10 PBC) fell to No. 12 Clayton State University (13-6, 10-2 PBC), 9-0. The Falcons picked up eight game victories on the day. Sophomore Helene Nordgreen (Bergen, Norway/Bergen Handels Gymnasium) won a game against 37th-ranked Katie White at No. 2 singles as she fell 6-0, 6-1.
The Falcons only other game victory in singles was at No. 4. Senior Emily Blackwood (Cullman, Ala./West Point) fell 6-0, 6-1.
UM won three game each in No. 1 doubles and No. 3 doubles. Blackwood and senior Alex Mangum (San Antonio, Texas/John Marshall) fell at No. 1 8-3 and Nordgreen and was junior Kodi Bobo (Cullman, Ala./West Point) fell at No. 3 8-3.
The women’s tennis team returns to action Friday, April 16 at 2 p.m. as the Falcons host the University of Mobile at the UM Tennis Complex.
