#7 Cougars Clip Falcons, 9-0

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The University of Montevallo women's tennis team (6-12, 0-8 PBC) fell to the seventh-ranked Columbus State University Cougars (19-0, 9-0 PBC), 9-0. The Falcons picked up just two game wins in singles and five in doubles. Freshman Meagan Stevens (Helena, Ala./Hope Christian) won both of UM's single games as she fell 6-1, 6-1 to the 49th-ranked player in the country at number three singles.

Senior Helene Nordgreen (Bergen, Norway/Bergen Handels Gymnasium) and junior Lauren Blair (Tuscaloosa, Ala./Central Alabama C.C.) teamed up to win four of UM's five doubles victories as they fell 8-4 in number one doubles. Stevens and junior Amy McGucken (Selma, Ala./Morgan Academy) picked up the only other victory as they fell 8-1 at number two doubles.

The Falcons will look to get back on track this Wednesday, April 4 at 2 p.m. as they travel to the University of West Alabama.
