Falcon Volleyball to Host Dig Pink Event Friday Night
MONTEVALLO, Ala. - Following women's soccer's successful Breast Cancer Awareness Month activity, Kick For the Cure/Pink Polo Day, women's volleyball is doing its part to increase awareness about breast cancer by hosting a fundraiser at this Friday's game against Armstrong Atlantic State University, Dig Pink - The Power of Pink. The event will raise money for the Side-Out Foundation. The women's volleyball team will take the court in pink uniforms to visually show their support for breast cancer awareness. All spectators are encouraged to do the same.
Off the court the pink theme will continue to the concession stand with 100% of cotton candy sales going to the Side-Out Foundation. Cotton candy will be sold for $1. University of Montevallo volleyball grey and pink "Think Pink" t-shirts will also be available for purchase ($10).
The volleyball game will begin at 7 p.m.
Organizations helping to support the cause by sponsoring or attending the event will be:
Kumon Learning Center of Alabaster and Director Lorraine Scoma who graciously donated the pink uniforms obtained from Third Degree Sportswear. One hundred percent of profits made by Third Degree Sports Wear go directly to the Side-Out Foundation.
Campus housing who enthusiastically donated the use of their cotton candy machine for the event.
