Falcons Earn First Region Ranking in New Conference
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- The University of Montevallo women's volleyball team (14-10) picked up its first Southeast Region ranking in school history. The Falcons are ranked ninth in the most recent NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings.
The Falcons are ranked just ahead of conference foe Lander University and behind fellow Peach Belt Conference team's Armstrong Atlantic State University, Flagler College and USC Aiken. FC is ranked second in the region while AASU is third. The Falcons defeated USC Aiken, who is ranked fourth in the region, 3-0 earlier this season.
The Falcons take on both AASU and Flagler this weekend with a chance to improve both their region and conference rankings. The top eight teams from each region advance to the NCAA Tournament.
The Falcons will next be in action tonight, Oct. 16 at 7:00 p.m. as they host Armstrong Atlantic State University. The match is also the Falcons Dig Pink Event to help fight the battle against Breast Cancer.
