Garrison Named to Second Team Academic All-District

MONTEVALLO, Ala. - Sophomore setter Anna Garrison (LaVergne, Tenn./LaVergne) of the University of Montevallo volleyball team (16-13, 6-6 PBC) was named to the ESPN The Magazine Second Team Academic All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Garrison has a 4.00 GPA in general studies.

This is the first Academic All-District award for Garrison. Garrison follows in the footsteps of former Montevallo Falcon Lauren Tortorici (2005-08) who was named to the Third Team Academic All-District last season.

Garrison has not decided on a major at Montevallo but has excelled both in the classroom and on the court in her first two seasons at UM. She currently leads the Peach Belt Conference in assists per set with 10.37. She also ranks ninth in service aces and 15^th in digs.

Garrison and the rest of the Falcons will return to action tomorrow, Nov. 6 at 4:00 p.m. as they host USC Aiken in peach Belt Conference action.
