Erin Heffner returns for her third season with
the Falcon coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Prior to UM, Heffner was at Samford University, where she served as
an assistant coach for two seasons.
A native of Fort Wayne, Ind., Heffner enjoyed a stellar playing
career, while playing for former UM coach Judy Green at the
University of Alabama. A two-time Honorable Mention All-American,
she became the first UA player to be named All-SEC all four years
of her career. She was named to the First Team All-SEC her junior
and senior seasons and was a Second Team All-SEC selection as
a freshman and sophomore.
Heffner was the AVCA South Region Freshman of the Year in 2001 and
was a two-time First Team All-Region selection. A team
co-captain her junior and senior seasons, Heffner started in 126
matches and posted 53 double-doubles. Her name is etched firmly in
the UA record book, as she is listed in the Top 10 in several
career offensive and defensive categories.
Heffner received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice
in 2005. She will be working towards her master's degree in
Education.
