Falcons Add Two Athletes for 2009 Season
MONTEVALLO, Ala. – University of Montevallo cross country head coach Michael Marquardt announced the signing of two recruits for 2009. Kaley Glover and Haley Evans will join the Falcons this fall in their first season in the Peach Belt Conference.

46 Montevallo Student-Athletes Named to GSC Fall Academic Honor Roll
MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo athletic department was tops among non-football schools in the Gulf South Conference with 46 student-athletes named to the Gulf South Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll. The Falcons were second only to Harding University who had 25 football athletes and eight men’s cross country athletes to push past the Falcons. The Falcons also had eight student-athletes named to their respective All-Academic Teams.

Falcons Have Best Finish in Program History at GSC Championships
HOOVER, Ala.- The University of Montevallo women’s cross country team had its best performance in school history at the Gulf South Conference Championship today (Oct. 24). The Falcons finished seventh overall besting 2006’s eighth place finish. Freshman Ginny Davis (Madison, Alabama) also matched Montevallo’s best individual finish with a 25th place showing.

Falcons Finish Fourth at Jacksonville State Foothills Invite
OXFORD, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women’s cross country team finished fourth at the Jacksonville State University Foothills Invite. Freshman Ginny Davis (Madison, Alabama) and sophomore January Waters (Grayson, Georgia) ran the top two times in school history finishing 12th and 17th, respectively.

Falcons Finish Fifth at Tennessee Tech Invitational
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Montevallo women’s cross country team finished fifth at the Tennessee Tech Cross Country Invitational. The Falcons raced three NCAA Division I opponents while defeating one, Tennessee State University.

Falcons Finish Third at ASU Jaguar Invitational
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The University of Montevallo women’s cross country team took on its first 6k race of the season. The Falcons out-ran six teams in route to their third place finish at the Augusta State University Jaguar Invitational. Freshman Ginny Davis (Madison, Alabama) led the squad with a fourth place finish. She finished the course in 25:33.20.

Davis Named GSC Runner of the Week
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Freshman Ginny Davis (Madison, Alabama) of the University of Montevallo women’s cross country team was named Gulf South Conference Runner of the Week. Davis led the Falcons to their first team victory in school history.

Falcons Capture First Meet Victory in School History
CLEVELAND, Miss. – The University of Montevallo women’s cross country team captured the first ever victory in school history today (Sept. 6). Freshman Ginny Davis (Madison, Alabama) wasted no time making her mark in Montevallo history as she set the school record in her first ever race wearing the Purple and Gold.
