Falcons Post Three School Record Times in First Race of the Season

MEMPHIS, Tenn.- The University of Montevallo women's cross country team ran in a unique race late last night. With most cross country races starting in the early morning hours the Memphis Twilight race is different with a start time of 8:45 p.m. The Falcons seemed to adapt well to the new start time as they posted three top ten times in the Montevallo record book.

Freshmen Kaley Glover (Opelika, Ala./Beauregard) and Haley Evans (Fairhope, Ala./Fairhope) wasted no time making a mark on the Falcons squad as they crossed the finish line as the top two Montevallo runners. Glover finished 35th with a time of 19:45.30. This was only the fourth time a Montevallo runner has finished under the 20 minute mark. Evans finished in 54th with a time of 20:10.77 good for sixth best in school history.

Sophomore Ginny Davis (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones) continued her strong running from last season finishing 63rd with a time of 20:25.72 good for ninth best all-time. Junior January Waters (Grayson, Ga./Grayson) finished 81st while sophomore Whitney Adkins (Conyers, Ga./Heritage) crossed the line in 116th.

The Falcons finished 12th of 24 teams beating out D-I teams in the process.
