Falcons Finish Sixth in Southeast Region Race
WINGATE, N.C. - The University of Montevallo women's cross country team raced to its best region finish in school history as the Falcons finished sixth in the 23-team field. The Falcons were led by sophomore Ginny Davis (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones) who ran her best race of the season as she finished 16th overall.
The Falcons finished fourth among Peach Belt Conference teams as the PBC dominated the race finishing with three of the top five teams including Columbus State who won the race.
UM's other top finishers were freshman Haley Evans (Fairhope, Ala./Fairhope) who finished 30th overall and freshman Kaley Glover (Opelika, Ala./Beauregard) who came across 35th. Junior's Georgia Izard (Birmingham, Ala./John Carroll Catholic) and January Waters (Grayson, Ga./Grayson) finished 63rd and 64th, respectively.
The Falcons end the best season in school history that rewrote the Montevallo record books. UM returns all but one runner next season and will look to improve on a phenomenal season.
